Handwritten historical sketch on microfilm. The item was written in the form of a letter. This is a first-person account dated 18 Sept. 1839. Peck recounts his activities during the "Missouri persecutions" of Mormons. He describes the church's religious, economic, and political organization and presents the nature of opposition to the leaders of the Mormon Church. He records rumors, gives accounts of battles, and recounts the scene of the Haun's Mill Massacre.
